Energy costs are now one of the largest cost blocks in a company. In addition, energy prices are rising steadily, mainly as a result of the energy transition and the nuclear phase-out. Efficient energy management is therefore not only environmentally conscious but also cost-saving.

An energy management system (EnMS) is used to systematically record energy flows. In addition, such a system enables an organization to continuously improve its energy performance while complying with legal requirements and other obligations. The introduction of an EnMS is a basic building block for cost optimization in an organization. Not only does this save energy costs, but it also makes them more transparent. Another useful side effect is the positive image gain for environmentally friendly behavior. As resources become increasingly scarce, sustainability is an increasingly important issue, especially in the energy industry.

STW Klagenfurt Efficiency with Axxerion

The Stadtwerke Klagenfurt Group (STW Klagenfurt) is a public Austrian energy and water supply company. The municipal utilities offer services and products such as district heating, natural gas, water and electricity. The group aimed to make energy consumption more transparent, efficient and ecological. Therefore, the introduction of EnMS software was unavoidable.

The decision was made in favor of the Axxerion software and us as implementation partners.
With the help of the EnMS software Axxerion, the Carinthian company took a pioneering role in the region with its launch in January 2013. STW Klagenfurt was the first Carinthian company to be ISO 50001 certified with the help of Axxerion. The modular software is available to every user in individual modules or as a complete solution directly via the Internet. The flexibly customizable workflow modules make it easy to map and optimize energy management processes with Axxerion. The software also allows access to consumption data from anywhere at any time. The system can be adapted or supplemented to new needs according to user requirements without special programming knowledge.

conclusion

„The implementation of a functioning energy management system requires forward-looking technology, project-related organization and a targeted corporate strategy.“, according to STW Board Member Mag. Christian Peham. STW Energy Manager Dipl. Innkeeper. Ing. Robert Slamanig adds: „Sophisticated environmental measures are intended to help our climate efficiently. That makes sense and saves you money.“ The use of state-of-the-art building management technology and automatic energy recording systems protects the environment and has been proven to significantly reduce costs.
